Putting My Experience
to Work
Committed to progress, Councilman Honore successfully rallied with residents to reverse plans to develop industrial warehouses in the Promenade subdivision. This action resulted in positive residential development of Promenade Estates and new retail on Highway 90; including Frost Bank, McDonald’s, Dairy Queen and Starbucks. This new trend away from development of industrial warehouses started a revival of retail and residential developments boasting retail sales tax revenue by 25%. Councilman Honore also created the Stafford Convention and Visitors Bureau, Energy Committee, and creation of Stafford’s Human Resources Department. The new Human Resources Department successfully implemented corrective action to improve hiring, training, and evaluation practices. The new Department reversed inequities in compensation and job classifications reducing risk exposure to unfair employment practices. Concerned for safety of our youth and residents, Honore lead efforts to make Stafford a walkable city with completion of the Staffordshire Sidewalk and LED Street Lighting project. Working with community leaders to correct long overdue drainage and flooding issues in historic neighborhoods of Missouri City Estates and Vaccaro Manor and erecting a new Fire Station are a few accomplishments.
